January Obsessions

/

Obsession — An idea or thought that continually preoccupies or intrudes on a person’s mind.”
-Oxford’s English Dictionary

Contrary to the popular meme going around that January has felt like it has more than 70 days in it, I feel like it was New Year’s Day like last week. But now that the month is over, here's a recap of my favorite things!

Organize Your Life

Organize — To form into a coherent unity or functioning whole.
-Merriam Webster’s Dictionary

For my second installment in my New Year’s Resolution series, I thought I’d talk about how I stay organized in law school and in life.  Having everything in my life be organized helps me to stay focused on my school work and makes me feel at peace (but seriously being disorganized stresses me out).  I need everything to be in its place and out of the way for me to feel like I have my life together.  So without further ado, here are some ways I keep things organized and in its place.

2L Spring Overview

/

Overview — A general review or summary of a subject.”
-Oxford English Dictionary

I cannot believe that I am officially halfway done with law school and that I’m closer to graduation than to when I started law school.  But that being said, I thought I’d give you some insight into the classes I’m taking this semester.  My schedule this semester is way different than any schedule I’ve ever had before.  Two of my classes only meet once a week for two hours, which means I only have one class for two hours on Monday and Wednesday, and my classes on Tuesday start at 8:30 am and end at 5:00 pm.  Hopefully I can handle a schedule like this because last semester all of my classes ended at 2:30 so fingers crossed.

Saving Money in Law School

/

Saving — The act or an instance of economizing.”
-Oxford English Dictionary

So for the month of January, I picked the most appropriate theme for this month, New Year’s Resolutions.  I’m not really big into setting New Year’s resolutions because I always feel like I fail within the first few weeks of the year.  However, I do try to start good habits even if I start when it’s not truly the beginning of the year.  My first installment in this series is about saving money in law school, which is a little bit of an oxymoron since law school itself is a lot of money.  However, there are some ways to save money on other necessities and even on your textbooks!

Winter — “The season between autumn and spring comprising in the northern hemisphere usually the months of December, January, and February or as reckoned astronomically extending from the December solstice to the March equinox.
-Merriam Webster’s Dictionary

I had a superb plan to post this on the first day of winter back in December, but being on break really got the best of me.  However, I’m here today with my review of the Winter FabFitFun box!  If you haven’t heard about FabFitFun before, it’s a quarterly subscription box that comes with about 7-10 full size items, all for $49.99 a quarter, but if you click this link, you’ll get $10 off your first box!  And trust me, it’s a great deal.  To see the types of items you can get in the box, check out my prior unboxings.  So, without further ado, here’s my review of the Winter 2017 FabFitFun box!
