September Obsessions

/

Obsession — An idea or thought that continually preoccupies or intrudes on a person’s mind.”
-Oxford’s English Dictionary

I can't believe it's already the end of September; this school year has been flying by.  I got a lot of new things this month and I have to say I probably could have added a couple more things to this list!

1.  West Elm Tiered Bar Console in Parchment.  If you follow me on Instagram (and if you don’t, you can follow me here!), then you might have seen this when I finished putting it together.  So, I know what you’re thinking, Libby how can you afford this if you’re on a law student budget.  Well, I had been eyeing up this bar table for a while, and then one day when I stopped in West Elm, it was 30% off, which is amazing for them, and had free shipping if you picked it up in store instead of getting it shipped.  That saved me so much money that I had to buy it.  Also, it was super easy to put together and took me less than an hour to put it together by myself.  As freaked out I was about spending so much money, it’s the perfect size for where I put it and makes me want to buy all of the decorations for it.

2.  Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Wear Camouflage Concealer.  So I had been using a Clinique concealer for the longest time, but lately, I haven’t really liked how it’s made my skin look.  When I was in Ulta not too long ago, I tried this, and it really brightened up my under eye area, which is amazing because I struggle so hard with dark circles.  I’ve also tried Tarte Shape Tape but I feel that this is a lighter weight concealer without sacrificing the coverage I need.  It’s actually not too expensive for a Lancôme product, and since a little goes a long way with this, it will last a long time.

3.  Younger Now by Miley Cyrus.  Seriously, I never thought I’d be writing that Miley Cyrus’ new album is one of my obsessions, but it is!  I always liked her version of Jolene, but then she got into her Bangerz phase, and I didn’t really like her music anymore.  However, she’s gone back to her folky vibe similar to her version of Jolene, and her new album is awesome!  I can also say that I like Miley’s new album more than I like what I’ve heard from Taylor Swift’s new album, which is really shocking for me since I’ve purchased a hard copy of every single TSwift album so far.  This is definitely a great on the road album so it’ll be perfect when I’m driving around!

4.  Fuller House Season 3 Part 1.  I watch Full House all the time when it’s on during Nick at Nite.  I also have been on board with a lot of the late 90s/early 00s tv show reboots until I watched them.  Shows like Girl Meets World and Raven’s Home focus a lot on the main characters’ kids and not the main characters like I wish they would.  However, I think Fuller House hit the perfect balance between introducing new characters but focusing on the original characters as adults.  Is it a little cheesy?  Yes, but I don’t think it’s over the top cheesiness.  Is it nostalgia wrapped up into a show?  Yes, and I love it.  And tbh I had to restrain myself from watching the all of the new episodes in one day.  I’m looking forward to when the new episodes of Season 3 come out because they ended on a big cliffhanger.

5.  Homescapes.  So not going to lie, but iPhone games are my favorite things to use when I’m procrastinating from school work.  I previously played the game Gardenscapes after seeing it in ads everywhere.  This game popped up on various other games and I thought I’d give it a chance.  The premise of the game is that you and your butler from Gardenscapes are trying to spruce up his parents’ house so they don’t sell it.  The actual game is very similar to Candy Crush, but I like that there’s an actual goal to meet as the game progresses.

So those are my favorite things that I purchased/watched/obsessed over during the month of September.  What were your obsessions of September?
